What is this site all about?
In 2007, 17,750 medical students matriculated over the 50 states of America. In the fall of 2008, I plan to be one of those 17,000+ students pledging their life to a career in medicine. As I prepare myself for the long and arduous journey, I set up this website with the following goals in mind. Primarily, this site will hold my medical school blog, through which I will chronicle my educational, emotional and professional development. I hope this blog to be a learning experience for both myself as well as those interested in following my journey. Additionally, I will be hosting MSBlogs.com: what I hope to be a rich community of medical students also interested in documenting their journey.
As you might imagine, monetary concerns also drove me to the development of this site. Depending on where you look, medical school tuition can cost between $10,000 and $40,000 alone! While I luckily reside in a state that strongly supports its medical institutions and will therefore be paying fees on the lower end of the spectrum, my medical school loans will be undoubtedly daunting. In an effort to reduce my indebtedness in 2012, I am offering advertising space in normal form as well as pretty cool mural space for images and links. If you are interested in helping me through these next four years with either encouraging words or supportive funding, I will greatly appreciate it!
